Basic Service - Sash Pickup & Return

Starting at $650 for a double-hung (2-sash) window.

Quantity discounts available.

Our most affordable option - perfect for contractors and hands-on homeowners.

  1. You uninstall the window sashes from the frames.

  2. We pick up the sashes from the site (no-cost in the Greater New Haven area, fee or drop-off options available for longer distances).

  3. Restoration happens in our shop

  4. We return the better-than-new sashes for you to reinstall.

We don’t nickel & dime - we know most old windows require minor wood repairs, so it’s built into our pricing. No fuss, no surprises.

Full-Service Window Restoration

Starting at $1100 per window for simple double-hung (2-sash) and select casement-style windows.

Quantity discounts available.

Leave the fussing with sash ropes and parting beads to us!

  1. Consultation - review condition of sashes, frames, and mechanisms, then create a project plan.

  2. We uninstall the window sashes and transport them to our shop for restoration.

  3. We source and manufacture and supporting items, such as frame/sill parts and balances.

  4. We reassemble all components, leaving you with a beautiful and functional window system.

Repairs and Customized Solutions

On-site repairs of common window problems:

How we Restore Window Sashes

  • Strip sashes to bare wood, uninstall glass.

  • Perform minor wood repairs (major repairs extra, we’ll try to identify issues upfront).

  • Prepare glazing rabbets with linseed oil.

  • Apply oil-based primer (coat 1).

  • Reinstall glass using mechanically-set points.

  • Apply linseed oil-baed glazing putty.

  • Apply oil-based primer (coat 2) including sealing of putty and glass.
